Henry Darger
One of those things that you only come to appreciate when you experience it in the flesh.. I came across the work of outsider artist Henry Darger the other day and was instantly captivated.
Large scale panoramic drawings, with this delicate palette of colours, so pleasing to the eye. The collage and elaborate subject matter keep you looking ; you try to figure out what is going on in these fantastical pieces. His background was pretty sad, though I still have to read up on the matter, but he is definitely one to note!
