'Fur'

Before (and in deed throughout) watching the film 'Fur' I had to retell myself: put all that you know about Diane Arbus to the very back and just try and see this as something else...
The opening explanation to the film highlights that the following is an 'Imaginary portrait' of Arbus. Let us stress this once more.

When Nicole Kidman who plays Diane calls her children by the complete wrong name, headlights are on - time to turn off. It is more of a love story between Arbus and her new neighbour played by Robert Downey Jr, aka the man suffering with a rare hair growth condition.

Kidman/Diane rarely uses her camera, this proves another infuriating factor. Hollywood cuttings and alterations leave this far from any shred of the truth, or rather the truth as we know it. I did watch the whole film, I suppose a small part of me wanted to know if anything of interest would be revealed about the real Arbus. Sadly not. The Giant Sketchbook Kidman had far from the reality of Arbus' detailed small treasure-filled notebooks.
