II

Irina Ionesco, a strong contender in female photography and mostly renowned for her controversial work; she would use her, often unclothed, daughter Eva in many of her photographs. Eva was treated and depicted mush the same as her women portraits.
In this respect I suppose you could say Ionesco shares a similarity with the work of Sally Mann. However there is heavy theatrical side to Ionesco with all the elaborate costumes and jewels, and the work is much more dramatic, mysterious, and in a way haunting.
